Armless Bodybuilder offers incredible inspiration

BodySolid.com - Barbie Thomas

Barbie Thomas lost both her arms in a freak accident at the age of 2. Thomas was playing outside, grabbed electric wires and burnt her arms to the bone — she wasn’t suppose to live.

Not only is Thomas living, she’s a competitive bodybuilder and model.

Thomas placed sixth in June at the Jr. Nationals and fifth at the North American Championships in August. Female bodybuilders are not only required to have beautifully sculpted bodies but must also do a two-minute performance incorporating dance, cheerleading or gymnastic ability. Thomas chose to include splits, high kicks and a ninja kip-up for her two-minute routine.

Fitness has always been apart of Thomas’ life. Growing up, she played soccer, ran and danced. As she moved into adulthood, she became quite versed in aerobic weight-lifting

"Follow your dreams and keep pushing and where there is a will, there is a way. We all have our own stuff to deal with and our own limitations and handicaps. Mine are just more visible. There's always someone else out there who has it worse."

Kind of feel like working out now, don't you? If Thomas can do it and do it competitively, you can too! Stay #BuiltForLife
