Model Rose Wins Silver and Gold Medals in Grappling Games Tournament

Earlier in the week, we congratulated one of our models—Lilly—for taking home first place in competitions at NPC Continental USA.

Today, we’re featuring another model in an entirely different competition as we congratulate one of our newest models Rose for her amazing accomplishments at last weekend’s Grappling Games Pro 10 tournament in Oak Lawn, IL.

Rose competed in both the gi and no gi competitions taking home silver in gi and the coveted gold medal in no gi.

Exactly 1 year ago I stepped into the cage to fight my first ever mma fight and won by submission. Yesterday, was a long time coming. I competed in my first ever Jiu Jitsu tournament and left with 2 medals. 2 gi matches. Won the first one by advantage, but wish i could’ve finished that triangle choke. The competitor in me is still killing me inside after losing my 2nd gi match for gold. I was up 7-0… I opened my guard, caught her in my half guard, and she got me in a choke and i tapped with 7 seconds left. As down as I was on myself after that match, I used my frustration as fuel for my no gi matches. Fought harder and smarter. Won the first match with a rear naked choke (no video 😞) and won the 2nd match with an arm bar. Overall, proud of my performance and hope I made team @ferroacademybjj, @uflackerbjj and the lineage proud. Special shout out to my #rollmates and Professor Anthony @sickness81 for always pushing me past my limits. If you don’t win, you don’t lose. You learn.
