In 2009, long-time Body-Solid customer Chris Costner’s life was turned upside down. Now, he’s ready to get back into the home gym he first started in 1996.
Costner, who lives 50 miles east of Knoxville, Tennessee in the town of Newport, first began using Body-Solid in 1996 with his first piece being the GSRM40 Seated Row Machine.
In 2009—after years of using the equipment and staying in tip-top shape—Costner’s life was transformed. Costner survived total kidney failure along with the death of his mother… all within a three-week period.
“It look me seven years to fully recover physically, emotionally and mentally,” said Costner.
Thanks to his wife, close friends as well as his primary care provider. Costner was able to start the rebuild process.
“I already had a home gym packed full of Body-Solid equipment,” said Costner. “Now it’s time to use it!”
Two of Costner’s favorite pieces are the GSRM40 and GPM65 Plate Loaded Pec Dec Machine. He also has a Smith Machine and bench.
“No matter how much weight you load on the GSRM40 and GPM65, they are still incredible smooth through the full range of motion,” said Costner. “There’s no such thing as a frictionless machine but those two get very close.”
As you can tell from the images, Costner has older versions of modern SKUs—a testament to their reliability. Body-Solid’s motto of “Built for Life” is more than a marketing slogan and our industry-leading warranties are further affirmation of the motto.
“A purchase of Body-Solid equipment is a one-time thing,” said Costner. “You can’t wear them out… I know this because I’ve tried.”
